Great product, but should come with steamer rack
Posted by Paul on 23rd Sep 2024
Does a great job with the rice. Easy to use, with multiple types of rice. Could be more useful if I could steam more things, but no steamer rack. Doesn't look like the part is available either

Loving it!!
Posted by Rod on 21st Nov 2021
Firstly, the delivery was quicker than expected, well protected, of course. The instructions are easy to follow but I did take a few attempts to become comfortable with the menu system. I have now tested the different cooking options and enjoyed the different textures that can be cooked with the one type of rice. I haven't been too adventurous but will experiment in time. The cooker is so easy and I also love the "keep warm" function. I recommend the Cuckoo - its easy, always makes awesome rice and I wish I had purchased one 20 years ago!!( I have always bought the normal, cheap rice cookers which last about 1 year and then break. So glad I tried Cuckoo!

Love my Cuckoo
Posted by Edith on 7th Sep 2020
Was a bit daunting at the beginning but once started very easy to use. Still have a lot of settings to try but the cooked rice was delicious. The cooker itself is very cute and matches my red fridge and my red front door. Win win all around.

Best investment for fussy rice lovers
Posted by Jana on 20th Jan 2020
My family and I love our rice but we are also fussy about it. I’ve always cooked my rice in a pressure cooker but it was never as good as the one I had tried from a cuckoo rice cooker when I was in Korea. I have finally given in and bought this cute rice cooker. It is easy to use and the rice cooks fast and keeps warm and fresh. It is the perfect size for my family and the rice always cooks deliciously fluffy and chewy. I hardly ever have left over rice. Really love this cuckoo rice cooker. Should have bought one sooner.

Then the train came through...
Posted by I am the train master now. on 7th Aug 2019
so... I'll be honest. The start was a bit hard. Unboxing the beautiful ruby gem I was able to sort the pieces efficiently, plugged it in, then her Korean voice charmed me so blissfully. But. I don't know Korean. WHAT DO I DO? After much reading and button pressing a universal translator converted the language into English. Thanks, Ruby (her name now). Rice washed and prepped - sitting in Ruby.... which function??? WHICH SETTING!!! after much googling and trying to figure out which setting for Jasmine Rice (glutinous rice - turbo) I hit start... then Ruby announces rice is going will start cooking!! Yay. I'm watching this little device whisp out steam with glee. doing other prep cause.. you know - gotta eat rice with something. After a short time, in the gentle background, I hear an steam... Turning to my wife we both look confused. Then the train came through...TOOOOOT TOOOOT!! WHOOOOOOOOSSSH!!! We both hit the deck as if our lives depended on it!!!! I've watched cartoons... I know that sound means imminent destruction!
A small chime then rings... the rice is done. Cowering under the table. We both look at Ruby in awe. -
Brilliant little rice cooker
Posted by Unknown on 4th Feb 2017
I did lots of reading and decided to buy either a Japanese or Korean rice cooker. The fact this is a pressure cooker also swayed my decision.
I've not had it long, but couldn't be happier. So far jasmine rice and brown rice have both come out perfectly. I didn't expect the texture of the brown rice to be any better than cooking it on the stove- but it is so much better, I'm amazed and so pleased.
I also LOVE the timer function- easy to use and rice cooked exactly when you need it.
I've tried the porridge function which was good and am experimenting with the multi-cook setting to use as a general pressure cooker.
I wasn't sure which size to by, but the 6 cup is perfect for our family (two kids). I also find it easy enough to lift and put away when not in use.... but I can already see I'll use this many times each week so it might end up living on the bench.
